Frequently Asked Questions:

How long does it take for us to set up our Christmas display?

We take down our Halloween display and begin setting up our Christmas display. We work on it a few hours after work most evenings and also on weekends. We have never actually kept track of the number of hours.

Where do you store everything?

We store the lighter weight items in the attic of our garage and heavier items on shelving in the garage.

How much is your electric bill for running the display and do you take donations toward your electric bill?

Our electric bill goes up approx. $100.00 for the period of time the display is running. The computer animation has actually helped reduce the electric cost since all of the lights are not on all of the time.

We have also been adding a few more LED lights each year, but they are still much more expensive. We have had to replace some of the initial sets that we purchased since they have failed to work.

We do not take donations toward our electric bill. Please make a donation to a local charity of your choice.
How does the computer animation work?

We are using software and lighting controllers made by Light-O-Rama. See lightorama.com for more information.

We are currently using 64 channels for the computer animated portion of our display. Each channel is basically a separate circuit that the computer controls for a decoration or group of lights.

2011 Christmas Display Update

Our display has been shut down and put away. We got things taken down in record time because of having no snow and warm weather. Last year everything was buried in two feet of snow!
